Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Senator Siraj-ul-Haq has called for the appointment of chairman, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) through judiciary as rulers use to fight with each other and support each other in sucking the blood of poor and their hard earned receipts.

Talking to media at the residence of Major Akbar Khan, the JI chief said that during 2016 people were united against corruption and if judiciary failed in giving justice, then in 2017 they will eliminate corruption through popular mass protest. The present system, he said is the system for the protection of the rulers and exploitation of poor. Under the present system, he said the rulers always increase their assets and usurped the rights of the poor to remain in power.

He demanded the abolition of plea-bargain in corruption cases and instead of military courts stressed need for the strengthening of civil courts. He lamented that rulers used to resolve the problems of their ministers and advisors and lacking time for the resolution of the problems of masses.

Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said that due to the lack of full time foreign minister Pakistan is the victim of isolation in world community while India is strengthening its lobby while Pakistani lobby is weakening. He said that India has announced the scraping of the Indian Basin Treaty saying our rulers should give response in the same tune. Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said that JI wanted the abolition of corruption and for the achievement of this big goal it started 'corruption free Pakistan movement'.

He said that for uniting people against corruption they staged national-wide public meetings, rallies and train march. He said that they have also presented four anti-graft bills in the parliament and gathered opposition on joint and unanimous terms of references (ToRs) on Panama Leaks and for the abolition of corruption also appeared in courts.
