The total export cargo of 20,065 tonnes comprised of 18,665 tonnes of containerised cargo and 1,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 2,962 containers comprising of 1,419 containers import and 1,543 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 590 of 20's and 311 of 40's loaded while 45 of 20's and 81 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 484 of 20's and 266 of 40's loaded containers while 113 of 20's and 207 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Batam Trader, Everrich-7, Oriental Lotus and Amoy Action carrying containers, oil tankers and coal respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were two vessels viz. Weser and Zealand Almerah carrying oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely Weser and Walleye carrying oil tankers sailed out to sea on Friday, while another ship namely Taroko carrying containers is expected to sail on Saturday. There were two vessels viz. APL Pearl and Lia carrying containers and coal respectively due to arrive on Friday, while four vessels viz. MSC Positano, Prosper, Hyundai Oakland and BBC Vela carrying containers and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
