Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan on Wednesday accepted the resignation of Syed Qaim Ali Shah as chief minister of Sindh. Shah along with CM-designate Murad Ali Shah called on Governor Sindh at Governor 's House where he submitted his resignation. Talking to media persons after accepting Shah's resignation, Dr Ibad said that Qaim Ali Shah's resignation from the office of the chief minister was a political decision.

The Governor paid rich tributes to the services of out-going chief minister and said that he served the province and also his party with dignity, brilliance and dedication.

He hoped that new chief minister designate Murad Ali Shah would benefit from the vast experience and wisdom of Qaim Ali Shah and work with the same spirit and brilliance. After the acceptance of Qaim Alia Shah's resignation, his cabinet has automatically been dissolved and the incoming chief minister will form a new cabinet.

The Secretary of the Sindh Assembly has announced the schedule for the election of the new chief minister. According to the schedule, the nomination papers for the elections can be submitted on July 28 from 9:00 am till 4:00 pm.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Wednesday fielded Khurram Sher Zaman to contest the election for Chief Minister of Sindh. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's senior leader and member of the National Assembly, Dr Arif Alvi stated in a message on social media that PTI deliberated and held sittings to finalise a name that could change the fate of Sindh and put it on a fast track progress. For that, it has decided to field Khurram Zaman as he is sincere about betterment of the province unlike candidates of other parties, he said.
