Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif will depart for London today (Sunday) where Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to undergo an open heart surgery on Tuesday. According to sources, Shahbaz Sharif arrived in the federal capital on Saturday and held an informal meeting with senior cabinet members to discuss the overall political situation of the country, besides discussing the Prime Minister's scheduled heart surgery and the interaction he had with him over the phone.

They said that Shahbaz Sharif will remain with the Prime Minister during and after the surgery and is also expected to visit the United States to attend the fourth US-Pakistan Business Opportunities Conference scheduled for June 2-3, 2016 in New York.

The conference to be attended by businessmen from Pakistan and United States will also be addressed by Minister of Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan, US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Olson, US Deputy Secretary of Commerce Bruce Andrews, Pakistani Ambassador to the US Jalil Abbas Jilani, officials of the Board of Invest (BoI) and others.
