Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday called on Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Raheel Sharif at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Friday to discuss the matters related to defence budget for the financial year 2016-17, according to ISPR. Finance secretary, Waqar Masood Khan was also present. An official source revealed that the purpose of this visit was not only to discuss the budget but to dispel the impression that the government and armed forces were not on the same page. The source said that Dar also assured necessary resources to the armed forces and the defence sector considering Pakistan's security situation.
