Various political, social, religious, educational and other organisations have arranged functions to highlight the importance of the Pakistan Resolution, with tight security being put in place. Television and radio will broadcast special programmes too. At the Aiwan-e-Sadr and the Governor's Houses of the four capitals top-ranking army and civil officials will receive awards. Wreaths will also be laid on the tombs of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.
The Punjab government is also marking the day with sports events, declamation contests, cultural shows and parades. In their pre-Pakistan Day messages on Tuesday, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam President Chaudhry Shujat Hussain, senior central leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and Moonis Elahi said, "Everything is linked with the existence of Pakistan, a Pakistan-Movement-like spirit is direly needed for effectively combating internal and external threats and challenges to Pakistan and practising the principles of 'Unity, Faith and Discipline' of the Founder of Pakistan is demand of the time."
