Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday noted with satisfaction that peace in Karachi has been largely restored and the city of Karachi is fast regaining its past glory. Chairing a meeting on law and order situation in Sindh, soon after his arrival in the port city, the Prime Minister lauded the role of Law Enforcement Agencies in securing peace in Karachi and paid tributes to those who laid down their precious lives for the sake of peace in Karachi.

He said the Karachi operation was launched after arriving at a consensus and added that the operation would continue till it reaches its logical conclusion. He said it was all the more necessary that the Karachi operation succeeds so as to completely wipe out terrorism and lawlessness from the city. The Prime Minister who was accompanied by Minister for Information Senator Pervez Rashid, was briefed on the overall law and order situation in the province here at the Karachi airport. The meeting was attended by Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, DG Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar, Chief Secretary Sindh and IG Sindh.
