President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Zahid Saeed has said that during 2015, a number of issues including delayed tax returns, withholding tax, energy crises, rising cost of doing business, mounting tax rates and industrial infrastructure were not resolved. However, he appreciated the prime minister for taking notice of business community issues, who personally gave a great attention to the problems of industrialists and traders and tried to resolve them.

The president KATI further said that increased FDI in energy sector during last year and newly launched projects of electricity and gas generation has kindled a hope for better availability of energy in upcoming years, but many other issues needed to be resolved accordingly. He also applauded the role of security forces for maintaining peace in the country and particularly in Karachi. He urged law enforcement agencies to continue their efforts as sense of security is a basic prerequisite for development of any country. Saeed also appreciated the decision of keeping low mark-up rates during previous year, this initiative stimulated borrowings by private sector.
