Keeping its legacy of nourishing platform for private sector of both the countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan, PAJCCI Pakistan chapter under the leadership of Chairman Zubair Motiwala, visited Kabul to attend its fourth Annual Conference and Board Meeting. The delegation arrived in Kabul on January 12, 2016 and would stay there till January 14, 2016.

The core objective of this visit is to rejuvenate trust and establish confidence building measures between the two countries during this critical time. During its stay, the delegation will visit Pakistan Embassy in Kabul; conduct its 9th board meeting and 4thAnnual conference followed by B2B Meeting. The delegation would also meet Vice President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Sarwar Danish to discuss matters of mutual interests, besides exploring the ways and means of how to enhance the existing trade and investment ties between the two countries.

Motiwala emphasised on the importance of establishing Export Houses for the business and trading community across the border under PAJCCI's umbrella, run by professional management with due support from the governments on both the sides. This concept would eliminate issues related to quality specifications, trust deficit, insurance and payment matters and will build the confidence amongst each other. He reiterated the need to revitalise the regional cooperation and welcomed the extension of APTTA to Tajikistan, Afghanistan's membership to the WTO and both countries' accession to TIR which would greatly reduce the problems in hand.

Co-President PAJCCI, Khan Jan Alokozay appreciated the effective role being played by PAJCCI by representing the business community across the border in both transit and bilateral matters. He further specified that both chapters of PAJCCI should develop a comprehensive draft for the improvement of APTTA agreement in line with issues faced so a joint proposal may be presented to ministries of both the sides before the upcoming APTTCA meeting. Zubair Motiwala also informed about holding of Dubai Conference in March 2016 and requested Pakistan Embassy to play its vital role in promoting the same in the elitist business people of Afghanistan and Pakistan to come forward and participate to make it successful.-PR
