Fog is likely to grip plains of Punjab, Peshawar divisions and upper Sindh during night and morning hours, the Met office said on Wednesday. Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. However, rain with snowfall over mountains is likely at isolated places in Malakand division and Gilgit-Baltistan over the period.

"Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country," the office said, adding that temperature in Skardu was minus 10, Kalam, Gupis and Parachinar minus 6 each, Astore minus 5, Kalat, Quetta and Malamjabba minus 4 each, Dir and Hunza minus 3 each, Dalbandin and Gilgit minus 2 each, Murree, Chitral and Zhob minus 1 each. Lahore Airport received 19mm of rain, PBO 9mm, Gujranwala 15mm, Parachinar 14mm, Sialkot 8mm, Jhelum 4mm, Mangla, Okrara, Cherat, Saidu Sharif and Dir 2mm each and lower Dir 1mm in the last 24 hours.

Weather has been cold and dry in most parts of the country in the last 24 hours but rain with snowfall over mountains occurred at isolated places in Malakand, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions. In the next 48 hours, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country with rainfall and snowfall over the hills at isolated places in Malakand division, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
