Sources at Ministry of Interior on Tuesday said National Action Plan (NAP), having 20 points is a comprehensive and all encompassing document and aims at eliminating, terrorism, extremism and militancy in all its forms and manifestations. Members and activities of banned organisations have been placed on Schedule IV of the ATA the sources said and added process of rationalisation of these lists is in progress.
They said once these lists are updated by the provinces, persons on these lists would be linked to National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Passport and Immigration, Arms/Driving licensing authorities, Banks, Airlines offices, Military Police and Private Security Agencies' recruitments centers. The sources said this would enable relevant authorities to better monitor their movements, financial transactions and their entry intro sensitive organisations difficult.
A geo-grapping exercise was undertaken in the country including Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and Punjab 100 per cent, Sindh 80 per cent, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) 75 per cent and Balochistan 60 per cent.Similarly, 182 suspect Madaris were also closed during the period including two in Punjab, 167 in Sindh and 13 in KPK. The number of closed unregistered Madaris was 72 in Sindh while the number of foreign funded Madaris was 190 including 147 in Punjab, Six (06) in Sindh, seven (07) in KPK and 30 in Balochistan.
