Nisar also sought an explanation from the police and security agencies concerned in this regard, adding such operations and raids are not acceptable at any cost. Masood had posted pictures on his Twitter account, showing several Rangers personnel at his home. According to his message, the raiding party said that they wanted to search out the premises and an operation against terror is under way, but had no warrants.
The journalists condemned the raid and staged walkout from the National Assembly press gallery. Later, Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman State Minister for Interior assured the journalist community that an action will be taken against the officials who ordered the raid.
According to a press release issued by the Islamabad police, contingents of the Islamabad Police and the Pakistan Rangers on Monday conducted and search operation in various areas of Sihala, Loi Bher and nabbed 25 suspects. He said that the search operation was conducted in the areas of Dhowk Awan, Rajwal, Sheikhpur, PWD, Swan Garden, Tumer Sheikpur, Khasot. The operation was headed by Superintendent of Police (Rural) Syed Mustafa Tanveer and SDPO (Rural) and Station House Officers of Sihala and Loi Bher police stations. The police searched total 300 houses and nabbed 25 suspects while cache of weapons was also recovered from their possession.
