Sindh government has approved a grant of Rs 1.9 billion for the expeditious completion of ongoing development schemes of various public sector universities of the province. According to sources, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, on a summary moved by his secretary for universities & educational boards, Iqbal Durani, has approved a grant of Rs 1.9 billion for 19 public sector universities of the province so that they might not face any financial constraints in completing their development projects.

Each of the 19 universities and educational institution which will get Rs 100 million include People's University of Medical & Health Sciences for Women, Shaheed Benazirabad; LUMHS, Jamshoro; Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi; Karachi University, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Benazirabad; Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam and University of Engineering, Science and Technology, Nawabshah; Saheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Sakrand; Sindh Madressatul Islam University, Karachi; Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur; University of Sindh, Jamshoro; Mehran University of Engineering & Technology Jamshoro, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University, Larkana; Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Lyari; Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto University of Law, Karachi; Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Sukkur and IBA, Karachi. The CM, the sources said had approved Rs 1.9 billion for the universities out of a total grant of Rs 5 billion allocated for the public sector universities of the province.
