It is with great excitement that I see the integration of the three stock exchanges of Pakistan into a single, unified Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). My congratulations to the members of Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore stock exchanges who have come together in a spirit of cooperation and fraternity in national interest to bring about this historic development in Pakistan's capital market. My felicitations also to the SECP, under the leadership of its Chairman, Mr. Zafar Hijazi and all his able team, for weighing the full support to this endeavour and my thanks to the Honourable Finance Minister, Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Dar, for providing us confidence and support in this regard.

The launch of Pakistan Stock Exchange is a landmark achievement and clear demonstration that given leadership with clear vision, strong will and sprit of unity, we can achieve major objectives. PSX itself is a means to an end which is, creating a single national market place where investors looking for attractive investment opportunities and companies searching for long term capital for growth can come together for mutual benefit. The single Exchange will enable investors from all parts of the country to participate in the country's capital formation which will lead to greater economic growth thus higher employment and income generation for households and corporate sector going forward.
