The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday dismissed election petition filed by Ibrahim Jatoi against the decision of Election Tribunal over the success of Pakistan People Party (PPP) Aftab Shaban Mirani from NA 202 Shikarpur. The three-member bench headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case filed by Ibrahim Jatoi against the success of Aftab Shaban Mirani. The bench after hearing detailed arguments dismissed petition and maintained ET verdict.

Justice Saqib Nisar remarked that unverified votes cannot be declared fake due to sub-standard ink. It is pertinent to mention here that Ibrahim Jatoi had won general election in 2013 but Aftab Shaban Mirani challenged his success before the Election Tribunal. The ET after hearing detailed arguments directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to hold repolling in 21 Polling Stations. After repolling Aftab Shaban Mirani won the election. Ibrahim Jatoi challenged Mirani's success before the Election Tribunal which was dismissed by the ET. Later Ibrahim Jatoi filed petition in the apex court against Election Tribunal decision which was also rejected by the apex court.
