As many as 17 people were injured due to celebratory gunfire on New Year night in Karachi. Multitudes of trigger-happy youngsters took to the streets riding motorbikes and other vehicles to celebrate the New Year's night. They resorted to aerial firing in different parts of the city, leaving 17 people wounded. The firing was reported in Ranchore Lane, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Lines Area, PIB Colony, Old City Area, Defence, Clifton and Saddar. Police failed to arrest any person violating the section-144 across city. In Lahore and Multan, Police arrested 24 youngsters for firing and seized their weapons.
