During the meeting, it was informed that on the directions of NAB Chairman, the Bureau had started Awareness and Prevention Campaign thorough NAB's message "Say No To Corruption" in order to aware people about the ill effects of corruption. During 2015, NAB's Awareness and Prevention campaign was effectively highlighted in print and electronic media.
It was further informed that NAB is mandated to carry out Awareness and Prevention functions against corruption in pursuance of Section 33C of NAO 1999. Under its proactive media approach, NAB has been engaging different governmental and non-governmental organisations and Civil Society in the fight against corruption. On the directions of Chairman NAB, the Bureau during 2015 had taken following initiatives under its Awareness and Prevention Campaign thorough NAB's message "Say No To Corruption" across the country. The detail is as under:-
a. Due to NAB's efforts, all ATM machines of all scheduled banks carry NAB's message "Say No to Corruption" across the country in order to aware people about the ill effects of corruption.
b. NAB has organised a national Seminar on World Anti-Corruption Day at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad which was chaired by the President of Pakistan.
c. NAB has also organised a walk at Aiwan-e-Sadr which was led by the President of Pakistan in which people from all walks of life participated and join hands with NAB.
d. NAB and UNODC have organised a seminar at a hotel, Islamabad which was chaired by the President of Pakistan and supported NAB's campaign against corruption across the country.
e. NAB and Pildat have also organised a seminar at a hotel in Islamabad which was widely attended by people from all walks of life.
f. NAB and Wapda have organised a seminar at Wapda House Lahore, which was attended by prominent journalists, writers and people from all walks of life.
g. NAB and Higher Education Commission (HEC) have signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) for creating awareness amongst students of various universities. Due to this collaboration, 4,030 Character Building Societies have been established in various universities across the country.
h. NAB has collaborated with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Due to this reason, Pakistan Cricket Team joined NAB through message "Say No to Corruption" before leaving for ICC World Cup 2015.
i. Collaboration with Pakistan Hockey Federation - Pakistan Hockey Team joined NAB to highlight its message "Say No to Corruption".
j. Collaboration with Pakistan Television (PTV) for airing the song "Say No to Corruption".
k. Collaboration with SNGPL and Iesco, Lesco, Gepco, Fesco to print NAB message "Say No to Corruption" from their platform.
l. Iesco has started printing NAB message "Say No to Corruption" on 2.4 million electricity bills from February 2015.
m. NAB, in collaboration with Pakistan Post, has specially designed and formally issued a commemorative stamp with slogan "Say No to Corruption" to mark the World Anti-Corruption Day.
n. NAB, in collaboration with Islamabad Traffic Police has started printing NAB message "Say No to Corruption" on all driving licenses.
o. NAB in Collaboration with PTA has disseminated NAB message "Say No to Corruption" to all mobile phone subscribers across the country through different mobile phone companies at the eve of World Anti-Corruption Day.
p. NAB in Collaboration with PIA is highlighting NAB message "Say No to Corruption" in all flights of PIA in country and aboard.
q. NAB in collaboration with Pakistan Film Censor Board continuously being aired NAB's video message "Say No to Corruption" in all cinema houses of the country after the National Anthem.
r. Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Co-ordination decided to join hands with NAB to print NAB message "Say No to Corruption" on all cigarette packs across the country.
s. NAB has proposed Motorway Police to join hands with NAB in its awareness campaign and disseminate pamphlets carrying NAB message "Say No to Corruption" among the travellers on all motorways across the country.
t. NAB has proposed CDA to join hands with NAB in its awareness campaign and display bill boards carrying NAB message "Say No to Corruption" on the main tourist sites of Islamabad such as Daman-e-Koh, Shakar Pariyah, Zero Point and Hill on express way to Airport.
u. NAB and Islamabad Police join hands by displaying NAB message "Say No to Corruption" on all the police stations.
v. NAB message "Say No to Corruption" is being printed on all government tenders issued for publication in newspapers in Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan.
w. Standees with NAB message "Say No to Corruption" have been displayed at the entrance points of some prominent hotels in Islamabad, Islamabad Airport and major shopping malls.
Chairman NAB, Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has said that NAB strongly believes in Zero Tolerance Policy against Corruption, adding NAB's Anti-corruption campaign is carried widely for awareness and prevention of corruption besides enforcement across the board during 2015 which will continue in the year 2016. He said NAB hopes that joint efforts of all stakeholders can collaborate to check corruption and corrupt practices before happening with the help of all stakeholders, civil society, media and people at large.-PR
