"On the basis of prevailing global atmospheric and ocean conditions, near normal rainfall is predicted all over the country during the coming winter season," the office said in its weather outlook for winter 2016. Two to three wet spells of light to moderate precipitation are expected at scattered places of KP, upper Punjab, North Balochistan, GB and Kashmir in January 2016, it said.
Similarly, three snowfall spells were likely to strike hills in upper KP, GB, Kashmir and two spells over mountains in north Balochistan during the month, it added. It forecast foggy conditions for the plains of Punjab and KP, saying the misty weather would continue to prevail till mid January, saying that dry weather conditions were likely to prevail in most parts of Sindh and southern Punjab.
