While speaking on the occasion, the CS said that like cities, provision of best medical facilities for people of rural areas is the top priority of the government. He said that all possible steps are being taken to provide best healthcare facilities to the people at their doorsteps. He mentioned that attractive salary package and other benefits are being given to the doctors serving in far-flung areas so that they could work with more dedication and commitment.
He warned that no negligence and laxity would be tolerated in provision of medical facilities to the people. He directed the principals and medical superintendents to ensure availability of medicines, missing facilities and cleanliness in all hospitals. The chief secretary lauded the efforts of medical superintendent of Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) for better management whereas he directed the MS of Services Hospital to improve performance. The administrative and financial problems being faced by hospitals were discussed during the meeting.
