Chairman National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Co-ordination, Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan has said that Punjab is a model for the whole country and it is far ahead in development as compared to other provinces. He stated this while presiding over a meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Co-ordination at Civil Secretariat.

Abdul Qahar congratulated the provincial administration of Punjab and hoped that it would continue its progress with the same spirit. He said that efforts made for the development of the province are marvellous and Punjab's progress is far better than other provinces. On the occasion, Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal highlighted the various issues relating to provincial autonomy after the 18th Amendment scenario including budget issues for various departments.

The committee members expressed full satisfaction on the elaborate presentation and promised to follow up outstanding issues at their level. The chief secretary said that the Punjab government is committed to improve health and education sector and strict monitoring is being carried out across the province. He said that attendance of doctors and teachers is being monitored through modern technology which has ensured 76 percent attendance of the doctors.

The chairman committee asked the chief secretary to arrange regular monthly meetings with MNAs on secretary level as they can indicate the issues faced by their cities and areas. The meeting was attended by Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, Saeed Ahmed Khan Manais, Muhammad Arshad Khan Leghari, Begum Tahira Bukhari, Sabiha Nazir and all the secretaries of the provincial departments.
