Prices of imported Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) continued to slide down, posting another decline of $94 per ton for January 2016. New Saudi Aramco Contract price for LPG import is now $376.50 per ton. As a result, the price of per ton imported LPG in the country would be reduced by Rs 9,910 and there will be a reduction of Rs 117 per 11.8Kg cylinder and Rs 450 per 45.4Kg cylinder, said Abdul Hadi Khan, central Chairman All-Pakistan LPG Distributors Association.

He asked the local producers to reduce the price of LPG keeping in view its declining trend in the international market. He alleged that local LPG producers have made it a habit that they immediately increase price of the commodity whenever there is a surge in the international market, but would not reduce the prices when prices of imported LPG kept on decreasing internationally. He was of the view that the energy crisis being faced by the country could be overcome with the help of locally-produced LPG.
