In the annual meeting of the central executive committee of Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PHMA) held recently at PHMA House, Karachi, Dr khurram Tariq, kay & Emms (Pvt) Ltd, Faisalabad was unanimously elected Central Chairman, PHMA for the period 2015-16. Dr Khurram Tariq said, "There are numerous challenges being faced by our industry major of which were severe liquidity crunch due to held up claims of sales tax and Customs rebate."

He asserted that regarding GSP Plus review we need to hold meetings with representatives of EU and explain the industry's progress and perspective. He said that USA trans-pacific partnership (TPP) is another issue which would be affecting our exports seriously. He specially thanked Muhammad Jawed Bilwani, Saleem Parekh, Adil Butt, Mohammad Amjad Khawaja, Qamar Aftab, Junaid Makda, Muhammad Babar Khan and all committee and staff members for reposing the confidence on him as central chairman.-PR
