Talking to newsmen in front of the Parliament House after the meeting, the minister said the leadership of both the parties had informed the Prime Minister that they would convey their decision after party-level consultations. He said the Prime Minister has assigned the task of approaching the MQM and JUI-F leadership to Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Saad Rafique, Pervaiz Rashid and Advisor to PM Irfan Siddiqui. The minister said consultations in this regard will immediately start. To a question, he said the matter regarding resignations of PTI members will be resolved within the parameters of law and the Constitution.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had invited to thank the heads of all those political parties which played historic role for continuity of the democratic system in the country against an undemocratic behaviour. The Minister said the heads of all political parties appreciated the Prime Minister for his political acumen and his efforts towards resolution of problems through tolerance. They also expressed their satisfaction over holding consultations for taking steps to ensuring supremacy of the democratic system, he added.
All political parties accepted the Judicial Commission's report and appreciated its findings. He said that during the meeting the issue of PTI members' absence from the Parliament and their resignations was discussed threadbare. All party heads expressed their views in the meeting and also discussed the resolutions submitted by MQM and JUI-F in the National Assembly the PTI MNAs.
The Prime Minister listened to viewpoints of the heads of all parties in the meeting and after consultations with them asked the MQM and JUI-F to withdraw their resolutions and not to stress for a vote on these resolutions. Pervaiz Rashid further said that JUI-F and MQM leaders expressed their views on the legal and constitutional aspects of the issue and agreed to inform PM after consulting with their party leadership.
