"The objective behind installing SAP is to optimise business processes, enable data-driven decision making, increase employee productivity, and sharpen business insight. We joined hands with Abacus Consulting, a leading SAP implementation partner; to conform our business processes to globally accepted best practices while keeping local dynamics in mind" mentioned CIO, JavedAsgher.
The implemented modules include production planning, sales and distribution, materials management, finance, and human capital management. "We took an integrated approach so that all business functions run SAP and visibility can be maintained throughout the organization"said Asgher.
Amreli Steels has completed its first phase of SAP implementation and hopes to start implementation of phase two a year from now. The company foresees installation of modules relating to plant maintenance and business intelligence in the future. Amreli has also upgraded its complete IT infrastructure to cater for this second phase, working with leading suppliers such as Dell and Multinet to ensure servers, storage, connectivity and internet access are robust and reliable.
"Amreli Steels has a culture of data driven decision making and as such instant access to information is of utmost importance. We want business technology to lend us insights on critical issues like bottlenecks in achieving production targets, cost cutting opportunities, credit risk or correct pricing strategies. At Amreli we are fanatical about cost cutting while maintaining the highest standard of quality and SAP will enable us to do that better and faster," said Director, Hadi Akberali.-PR
