Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who is also Chairman Overseas Pakistani Commission has nominated prominent leader Kashmir Movement America Captain Khalid Shaheen Butt (Retd) as Vice Chairman of the commission while Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan as Chairman District Lahore Overseas Committee of commission.

This was stated during a dinner held in the honour of delegations of overseas Pakistanis at 90 Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam Saturday. Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission Muhammad Afzaal Bhatti, Director General Kh. Muhammad Dawood, Director Complaints Captain Syed Muhammad Mubeen (Retd), Chaudhry Tariq Mehmood, Shakeela Chaudhry, Rana Liaqat and Shafique Chaudhry, other members of overseas Pakistanis as well as delegations of overseas Pakistanis from America, UK, Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Palestine investing in Pakistan were present on the occasion.

Addressing the function, Rana Mashhood Ahmed said it is mission of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif that there should be rule of law in Pakistan and justice be ensured to everyone. He said that under this vision, PML(N) leadership has done a lot regarding Land Record Computerisation, ensuring women share in inheritance, setting up of Counter Terrorism Department for the eradication of terrorism and lawlessness and provision of educational and health facilities to common man. He said that Overseas Pakistanis gave excellent respect to Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif in every country during their exile. He said overseas Pakistanis desired that justice should be provided to everyone under an automatic system in Pakistan.

He said that overseas Pakistanis send 14 billion dollar as foreign exchange to Pakistan annually and it is the responsibility of the government to provide them conducive environment in Pakistan so that they could also play their due role in the development of the country. He said that we want to set overall system in order in Pakistan. He said that load-shedding will be eliminated from the country up to 2017 besides jobs opportunities will be made available for the youth. He said that nefarious designs of terrorists will be foiled and Pakistan will become a prosperous country.

Earlier, Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission Muhammad Afzaal Bhatti said that legislation for commission was completed on November 10 2014 and it has been made functional formally 10 days ago. He said that 57 complaints of Overseas Pakistanis have been received so far in the office of Overseas Pakistanis Commission set up at I Club Road, GOR I, Lahore out of which 23 complaints have been redressed. He said that all complaints of Overseas Pakistanis with regard to Airport Authorities, NADRA, Board of Revenue and Police are being immediately redressed through Punjab Board of Investment and Trade.
