Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has decided to introduce a Fast Track Promotion System for the promotions of sub-inspectors and inspectors in a fair and transparent manner. The decision to introduce this system was taken in a meeting held at the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkwa Nasir Khan which was attended by the Additional IG HQRs, Additional IG Special Branch, Additional IG Investigations, DIG Headquarters DIG Enquiry and Inspection and representatives from Departments of Home, Establishment, Finance and Public Service Commission.

While speaking on the occasion, the IGP Nasir Khan Durrani said that the introduction of Fast Track Promotion System is an opportunity for the efficient, hardworking and deserving officers. It would be a transparent and fair process to ensure that deserving officers are promoted to their next rank in a fast manner.

He added further that this would not only encourage a healthy competition amongst the officers but would also increase the morale of the police and provide an opportunity to strive hard for promotions. In the meeting it was decided all those officers of the rank of sub-inspectors and inspectors who are well educated, efficient, hardworking and deserving would be provided an opportunity of fast track promotion to their next respective rank after appearing in the competitive exams to be conducted by KP Public Service Commission. A 25 percent quota will be fixed for such fast track promotions. The exam syllabus includes subjects of law and modern policing concepts.
