Implementation of 'Bhuttoism' is the only step towards steering the country out of persisting formidable challenges, said Chairman Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on his formal launch as party's chief in politics at a mammoth public gathering held outside Quaid's mausoleum on Saturday. PPP put up an impressive show which was attended by people from various parts of the country.

PPP's chairman termed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan 'puppets in politics'. Bilawal's address to the gathering was an admixture of poetry, sloganeering and attacks on country's political leadership. The die-hard workers of PPP were seen chanting slogans "Go Imran Go" along with party slogans. Soon after the chant of an anti-Imran Khan slogan, an interesting situation developed on public meetings stage when one of the PPP leaders termed PTI 'Pakistan Tehreek Lota' (PTL) due to the presence of Jahangir Tareen, Pervaiz Khattak, Shah Mahmood Qureshi and others in PTI who joined the Imran-led party after leaving other parties. "Pakistan has a history of scripted political movements," he said, adding that Imran Khan's ongoing agitation against government was the result of a 'secret script' written by vested interests. He said Nawaz Sharif holds a 'fake' two-third mandate of people while 'Kathputli' Khan (Imran Khan) is playing in the hands of dictatorial forces. He said anti-Pakistan forces have a nefarious agenda to create a Syria-Iraq like situation in the county, which would be resisted by PPP at all cost.

"Bhuttoism is the only solution to end a civil-war-like situation in the county," he maintained. He said that PML-N government has failed to formulate an independent foreign policy due to a lack of political determination. Bilawal termed the cancellation of Chinese President's visit to Pakistan the result of a weak foreign policy. "Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (ZAB) helped normalised ties between the US and China and developed historic friendly Pakistan-China relations in his tenure as prime minister," he added.

Criticising PTI, he said Imran Khan is seeking to promote anarchy in the country. "MQM has been in power in Karachi for the last 20 years and whatever it has done to Karachiites is an open secret and now the PTI wants to become an MQM of Lahore," he said. He also questioned the judicial system that exists in Karachi, saying that it lacks power of decision-making.

Bilawal said PPP would free people of Karachi from the clutches of a 'mafia' by winning an impressive number of seats in the next 2018 general election. He criticised the Punjab government for the Model Town (Lahore) killings, saying that although as many as 14 innocent people were killed and several others injured by police the Chief Minister Punjab registered an FIR against the victims. He also asked the Prime Minister to announce an "Emergency Package" for the development of Karachi.

Bilawal said that people facing dictatorship in the country had a ray of hope in the return of Benazir Bhutto on October 18, 2007. According to him, three million people came out to welcome her but they felt disappointed when once again a dictator succeeded in eliminating their hope. He said that an innocent boy was sent to kill Benazir Bhutto and several others were also killed on Karachi roads. "The first elected woman prime minister of the Muslim Ummah was killed while suicide attacks were carried out on our leaders, our governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer and minority minister," he said, adding that the word 'fear' does not exist in the dictionary of the Bhuttos.

He said the "stooges" that are staging sit-ins today tried their luck in PPP-era. He added that the Hazara community in Quetta also staged a sit-in but PPP amicably resolved it. "It is only Bhuttoism that calls for unity of federation and does not advocate politics on linguistic, ethnic and religious bases," he said. He said the Sindh government was doing a better job for the province as it had announced that it would give 0.4 million scholarships to students, land to 20,000 women farmers and carry out massive development work. He asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other political parties to join hands in the larger interest of the country.

INP adds: "Today, old Sindhis say they have become a minority in Karachi. New Sindhis say that they are being victimised. I call for an end to it," said Bilawal. He said that Karachi is everyone's and everyone should be allowed to live in peace. "However, it is PPP only that is fighting for the peace of Karachi," he said.

Bilawal raised his voice for the rights of suppressed people of Balochistan and said that PPP apologised to them after coming to power in 2008. "But when someone talks about the rights of the Baloch people, he is bombed by an F-16 like Akbar Bugti was bombed," said Bilawal. He said that relatives of the missing persons walked up to Islamabad but they were thrashed by police.

Commenting over the Kashmir dispute, Bilawal said that Indian media attacked him when he talked of Kashmir. "When a dictator talks about Kashmir, they rubbish it terming it the voice of ISI. When a Mullah talks of Kashmir, they rubbish it terming it the voice of terrorists. But when a Bhutto raises voice for Kashmir, Indians don't have an answer to it", he added. He said that even he wanted peace but Kashmir issue must be resolved in the light of UN resolutions. "I am son of Kashmir, the son of Bhutto Benazir," said Bilawal. "Kashmir will become Pakistan," said he.

Criticising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Bilawal said that Chairman PTI used to make claims that corruption would end within 90 days in KP. "Go and see what's happening in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) today," he said. "Cowards! remove helmets and face the bouncers of terrorism," Bilawal challenged.

"Sindh police is fighting terrorists in Karachi but they have safe havens in South Punjab," said Bilawal. "Those who are friends of Taliban, are traitors of Pakistan," he said. "Mr Prime Minister! Give South Punjab its rights or I will snatch its rights from you for it", he said. He said that Chief Minister Punjab has a two-thirds majority in Punjab but is unable to deliver. He said that Nawaz Sharif is pro-dictatorship. "I ask you to shun Zia-ism and embrace Bhuttoism," said Bilawal. "Mr CM! You are unable to manage Lahore, how will you manage entire Punjab?" he asked.

He declared himself as leader of the all sects of society and said that Bhuttoism was the only way to save the country. Bilawal said that the father of democracy, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, materialised the dream of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of the nation. He said that there are only two schools of thought in the country: "The followers of Bhuttoism and the worshippers of dictatorship."
