Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan chaired an emergency meeting of Islamabad and Rawalpindi administration here on Monday to discuss the possible outcome of Supreme Court's orders regarding the vacation of Constitution Avenue. Federal Minister directed the administration and law enforcement agencies to ensure the implementation of Supreme Court's decision in true letter and spirit.

The minister expressed the hope that things would be settled down peacefully anytime soon and negotiations are heading in a positive direction. He discussed with the administration of the twin cities the possible exit of the participants of the processions from Red Zone and giving them any other safe venue as per the direction of Supreme Court. He also discussed the possible new venues for the participants of both the marches and the security arrangements for the participants and the inhabitants of that area.

He also discussed the possible modernisation of the police department and to equip it with modern anti-riot and anti-demonstration gadgets. He also stressed the need of modern training for the police force and to recruit more woman constables with proper training. He further said that writ of the state is established through the police force and if it is not properly established then peace in society becomes a distant dream. He expressed his resolve that he will equip the police department with latest technology.-PR
