At least seven people died in rain-related incidents here on Saturday. According to police and rescue sources, Mohsin, son of Ibrar Hussain, and Tauqeer, son of Akhtar, were electrocuted in Buffer Zone, Sector 15-A. Their bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. Bushi, son of Saleem, also died of electrocution in the Korangi Industrial Area (KIA). His body was shifted to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Center (JPMC).

INP adds: A woman and a child succumbed to their injuries that they had received from a wall collapse in their house. Two persons died of wall collapse in SITE and Gulshan-e-Murad areas of the mega-city. Light to moderate and heavy rains with strong winds were experienced in I I Chundrigar Road, Kharadar, Mithadar, Burns Road, F B Area, Nazimabad, North Karachi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Malir, Karachi Airport, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Shah Faisal Colony, Landhi, Korangi, Gulshan-e-Maymar, DHA, Clifton and other areas of the city. Rainwater inundated roads in different parts of the Karachi. Due to rains, multiple grid stations of K-Electric went offline with dozens of feeders tripping causing blackouts across the metropolis.

K-Electric spokesman Usama Qureshi told media persons that teams were working to restore the 80 affected feeders, adding that power would be restored soon. A man was shot dead by unidentified people in Gulistan Colony of Lyari on late Saturday night. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital (CHK) for autopsy. Meanwhile, Sindh and Balochistan's different towns/cities continued to receive intermittent rains on Saturday morning. The Meteorological Department has forecast rains with thunderstorm and lightning in the next 24 hours for Sukkur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lahore, Islamabad and Azad Kashmir and different parts of Sindh.
