Pakistan People's Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting with US Vice President Joe Biden here, a private TV reported. In more than one-hour meeting, which was also attended by other members of the US Congress, both the leaders discussed the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan.

They also exchanged views on the evolving regional situation after the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Wednesday that Zardari had gone to Washington with a view to examining the status of the NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) deal adding, that deal, in which the Unites States was one of the guarantors, had ensured the withdrawal of corruption charges against the former president.

PTI vice-chairman questioned whether the army be allowed to impose martial law on the fourth democratic term if the statement issued by Shehla Raza was based on truth. Qureshi also said that law must be equal for everyone and that PTI would not be a part of any deal in relation to Musharraf's fate.
