The PML-N sources also claimed that Nisar had agreed to play an active role from now onwards. However, no official announcement was made to this effect till the filing of this report. It may be noted that Nisar had developed some differences with the party leadership over a variety of issues in relation to National Security Policy prepared by him, peace talks with Taliban, budgetary allocation for his ministry and the military operation in North Waziristan.
The sources said the PM told Nisar that he had always given importance to his advice and thoughts. Nawaz also told Nisar that the Interior Ministry has a very important role to play in prevailing circumstances, the sources said. Further, the sources claimed that the premier heard the viewpoint of Nisar and vowed to address all his reservations. The sources claimed that it was resolved in the meeting that Nisar would meet the prime minister in Islamabad next week to resolve differences with other Cabinet members, including Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif and Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar.
Nisar, said the sources, told the premier that he keeps himself updated on the developments relevant to his ministry and the security situation. Nisar said that Pakistan Muslim League-N is his party and Nawaz Sharif his leader. "I do get angry at times but can't even think of quitting the party," he was quoted as saying.
Earlier, on arrival at Raiwind, Nawaz Sharif warmly embraced Nisar and reportedly said: "Chaudhry Sahab why do you get annoyed so easily? You are a senior and important member of the party." Nisar replied: "One gets upset with only those who are close to his heart." It may be noted that on July 4, Shahbaz Sharif took Nisar with him to Lahore from Islamabad after he failed to appease him following a round of meetings. The PML-N chief had called a meeting of the PML-N leaders in Islamabad to which Nisar Ali Khan was also invited but he did not turn up.
