The participants of an All-Party Conference (APC) convened by Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri here on Sunday, demanded resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif over the Lahore killings.

The APC issued a five-point declaration rejecting the judicial inquiry ordered by the Punjab government and demanded that a full bench of the Supreme Court should hold an inquiry and record statements of the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Punjab and others to find out the truth and fix the responsibility for killing 14 "innocent unarmed persons" and injuring around 80 persons.

"If Shahbaz Sharif doesn't resign then President Mamnoon Hussain should exercise his powers and force Shahbaz to resign," it added.

The declaration said the Home Secretary Punjab Inspector general (IG) Punjab, deputy inspector general (DIG) operations, home secretary, and district co-ordination officer of Lahore, SSP, SP Model Town and Lahore CCPO should be sacked and arrested for "their acts of terrorism"."They should be treated like common citizens rather and a First Information Report (FIR) of the incident should be registered on the complaint filed by Minhaj-ul-Quran.

The APC vowed to extend full support to Pakistan Army in its Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorist in North Waziristan. The participants of the APC also vowed their complete support for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Opening the conference, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahhirul Qadri thanked all the parties participating in the conference.

It may be added that the PPP, JUI (F) JUI (S) and ANP had refused to attend the conference whereas delegations of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) and Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) Niazi group, Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) and Awami Muslim League (AML), SIC, and MWM participated in the conference. Manzoor Wattoo of PPP said Pakistan People's Party (PPP) did not get the invitation. The PAT chief termed the Model Town incident state terrorism committed by Punjab government. He said that APC was being held on a single point agenda to discuss the killings.

PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Ilahi said the Punjab CM should tender his resignation in order to ensure the transparent investigation into the incident. AML chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said that all political parties would throng D-Chowk and a movement would be launched after Ramazan.

MQM leader Siddiqui said his party believes in change of system and it will raise voice for change at all forums. He added that no independent investigation can take place under the supervision of the Punjab government officials and the police.

Ahmed Raza Kasuri from All Pakistan Muslim League said that the government was setting a wrong example of governance. He said the prime minister's speech in favour of operation was scripted by the General Head Quarters.

Former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that his party's fears regarding election rigging had been confirmed. He said other parties had endorsed his party's stance and the names of those involved in rigging had become public. Talking to journalists, Elahi reiterated Imran Khan's stance on election rigging and called the entire process a farce.
