Advisor to Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Economic Affairs, Rafaqatullah Babar passes away here on Friday. His funeral prayers were offered in Mohallah Babar of his ancestral village Pir Pai.

Besides, Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation, Mian Jamshiduddin Kakakhel, MNA Dr Imran Khattak, Parliamentary Secretary Planning & Development, Mian Khaleeq-ur-Rehman, Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, MPA Qurban Ali Khan, general secretary PTI KP, Khalid Masood, former provincial minister Syed Aqil Shah, other members of National and provincial assemblies and a large number of people from different section of life attended. In the funeral prayers the chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was represented by his brother former MPA Liaquat Khattak and son Ishaq Khattak.

The deceased was the father of the Director, Khyber Institute of Children (KIC), Hamad Zarif Babar, brother of former nazim, Pir Pai, Naveed Babar and Ziaullah Babar and brother-in-law of the Chief Minister Complaints' Cell, Haji Dilroze Khan, Chairman, ICMS College System, Tajamul Hayat and Flying Officer, Shams-ul-Arfeen. Few days back, he was critically injured in a traffic accident while returning to Peshawar from Shandur, Chistral and for last four days was under treatment in Lady Reading Hospital (LRH).

The Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the death of his Advisor, Rafaqatullah Babar. The chief minister while appreciating his official and public services and expertise on economic and education sectors have paid rich tributes to him.

He said that late Rafaqat Babar was a scholar in true sense, whose consultations were always proved meaningful and targeted. On appointment as provincial advisor, late Rafaqat Babar set aside his personal business and extended free and sincere assistance to the provincial government. The chief minister offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed heartiest sympathies with all members of the bereaved family.
