This demand was made in a ceremony organised here in a bid to pay her tribute over her countless & worth mentioning services rendered in the field of education in Sindh. Among a large number of teachers, students, educationalists, chancellor ISRA University Hyderabad Professor Dr Asadullah Kazi, vice chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur Professor Dr Parveen Shah, ex Deputy commissioner Sanghar Muhammad Usman Mangi, MPA Mehtab Akbar Rashidi, Sultana Siddiqui, Inayat Baloch and director colleges Shakeel Ahmed.
On the occasion, the gift of Chadar (scarf) and memorable shield were presented to Aapa Mariyam Sultana Noohani for her unforgettable contribution in the field of education. Addressing the ceremony, the student of Aapa & MPA Mehtab Akbar Rashidi honoured her with prodigious words and termed her as a great asset to the nation. She said Mariyam Sultana imparted education & training especially to the girls and apprised them with the importance of schooling.
Dr Parveen Shah said the educational services of Professor Noonari will be sparkled like sun in the centuries to come as she made the girls of rural areas aware of the ornament of education. She demanded that the class room ought to be after her name where she taught.
Sultana Siddiqui said that Sindh and Sindhi folk will always be proud of Professor Sultana's name and the Sindhi nation will continuously remember such benefactors and their services. Chancellor ISRA University Hyderabad Dr Asadullah Kazi termed Professor Mariyam as a treasure of education as well as wisdom and praised her academic contributions.
Calling her benefactor of Sindhi nation, he demanded that she should officially be declared as "Mother of Sindh". An office bearer of a non-governmental organisation, Inayat Baloch called for terming Aapa Noonari as the "Mother of Sindh" and vowed that he will soon send such proposal to the government of Sindh so that it may get a bill in this regard passed from the provincial assembly of Sindh.
Director Colleges Hyderabad Shakeel Ahmed announced that the library of Zubeda College will be ascribed in the name of Professor Mariyam Sultana. On the occasion, former DC Sanghar Muhammad Usman Mangi said that Professor Noohani's dedicated & unforgettable services in the field of education will always be remembered.
