Renowned astrologer Humayun Mehboob is the first Pakistani to receive the most prestigious Civil Award of Malaysia 'Datuk', bestowed on him by the King of Malaysia HE Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'azam Shah. In this regard Hashoo Group of Hotels on Thursday hosted a ceremony at Pearl-Continental Hotel in honour for Humayon Mehboob on achieving the award.

On the occasion, Mehboob said that he has been providing consultancy to Federal Territory of Malaysia. "In the history of Malaysia and Pakistan this is the first time this award was given to any Pakistani national. The award called the 'Datuk Award'," he said. Mehboob was also awarded a gold medal on behalf of Chairman, Hashoo Group of Hotels, Sadruddin Hashwani, which was presented by Azeem Qureashi General Manager PC Karachi.

Qureshi said that award was bestowed in recognition and appreciation of the advice, consultancy given by Datuk Humayun Mehboob to the Malaysian Government. "This is a great triumph and pride for Pakistan," he said. Humayon Mehboob started his career from Pearl Continental Karachi in 1997 as astrologer.
