The government will suspend mobile phone services in several cities of the country to avoid untoward situation during the Chehlum processions of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A), it is learnt. Sources revealed that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has sent letters to all the cellular companies, directing to remain prepared for the service closure.

The authority further maintained that name of cities and timings for service suspension will be communicated to cellular companies later, it was just a cautionary measure. However, sources maintained that cellular services are likely to remain suspended from 7 am to 10pm in various parts of the country.
