Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the Upper Dir incident in which two senior army officers were martyred is a serious setback to peace talk with Taliban. "The incident has shocked us and the government would consult the military and political parties over talks with the Taliban. The government should be given time and space as we assure you that consultation would be done by taking all the stakeholders including political parties and Army onboard," the Interior Minister said while speaking in the National Assembly on Thursday.

He said that All-Parties Conference (APC) had empowered the government to hold talks with Taliban and this would require time, adding with the recent killing of army officers, the process had been hampered.
