Former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani's wife and two of their sons submitted in the Special Narcotics Court (SNC) details of their accounts in ephedrine quota allotment case on Saturday. Fouzia Gilani and sons Ali Musa Gilani and Abdul Qadir Gilani submitted details of their accounts in the court through Ali Musa Gilani's lawyer Chaudhry Faisal Hussain.

Hussain told the court that Musa Gilani had Rs 1.53 million in his account, Abdul Qadir Gilani Rs 4.44 million and Fouzia Gilani had Rs 27,226 in her account. The counsel said that Yousuf Raza Gilani had no connection with or role in ephedrine quota case and that he had not been issued any notice about his assets and properties.

Ali Musa Gilani's counsel submitted the details of accounts of his clients at SNC court where Judge Arshad Mehmood Tabasum was hearing the ephedrine quota allotment case. Former Health Minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin also submitted details of his assets and informed the court that his source of income was agriculture land that he had inherited from his ancestors.

They claimed that the money shown had not been made through the sale of ephedrine; but was made through personal means. During the course of hearing, the CNS court also ordered the seizure of assets belonging to former Health Secretary Khushnood Lashari and three other owners of pharmaceutical companies in the ephedrine case over their failure to submit details of their assets.

Pharmaceutical Director Colonel Tahirul Wadood Lahoti (Retd), chief executive of Berlex Lab International Multan Iftikhar Khan Babar, and Director Rizwan Ahmed Khan's properties would also be seized because they too failed to respond to court. The court adjourned the hearing of case till July 30.
