The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday issued a schedule for voting on May 11 general elections. The ECP has decided that the polling would be held from 08:00 am to 05:00 pm, without any interval. The same schedule has also been dispatched to all the returning officers. The Commission further warned that election officials who would not act according to the directives of ECP, action would be taken against them.

The ECP decided to send the complaints received from across the country regarding establishment of polling stations at wrong locations to the concerned Provincial Election Commissioners (PECs) being examined by them in the light of the given instructions.

The Commission further directed that the PECs would also take into consideration all the complaints of similar nature received in their respective offices. The PECs have been further directed to send their reports on each complaint with their own views thereon. On receipt of such reports from PECs, the Commission may pass appropriate orders in its next meeting.

The Commission also postponed polls on PS-64 (Mirpurkhas-I) on account of the passing of Waqar Buland Khan, one of the candidates running for the seat. The ECP said a date for polling on the said seat would be announced later. A notification issued by the Commission in this regard states, "The Returning Officer concerned has terminated the proceedings relating to election to that constituency," and that "fresh proceedings will commence after the General Elections and the schedule for the said constituency will be announced in due course of time and in due process of law".
