Sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday that the provisional revenue collection was Rs 1,346.260 billion during July-March period of 2012-2013 against Rs 1,280.397 billion in the corresponding period of 2011-12, reflecting an increase of 6.7 percent.
As far refund payments are concerned, there is a decrease of 41.7 percent during July-March (2012-2013) when compared with the same period last fiscal (2011-12). The refunds and rebates of domestic taxes ie sales tax, income tax and the FED amounted to Rs 60.936 billion during July-March (2012-2013) against Rs 111.311 billion during the corresponding period of last fiscal, reflecting a decrease of 50.375 percent.
A break-up of refund payments showed that sales tax refunds of Rs 26.869 billion were paid during July-March (2012-2013) against Rs 34.939 billion in the corresponding period 2011-12, reflecting a decrease of 23.1 percent. The direct taxes refunds of Rs 33.914 billion were paid during July-March (2012-2013) against Rs 76.151 billion in the corresponding period of 2011-12, reflecting a decrease of 55.5 percent.
The refund of federal excise duty (FED) of Rs 153 million were paid during July-March (2012-2013) against Rs 220 million in the corresponding period of 2011-12, reflecting a decrease of 30.5 percent. The customs duty rebate of Rs 8.526 billion were paid during July-March (2012-2013) against Rs 7.794 million in the corresponding period of 2011-12, reflecting an increase of 9.4 percent.
