Dr Musaddiq Malik is likely to become Finance Minister after Dr Mushtaq Ali Khan refused to join the Cabinet at the eleventh hour, according to sources Malik is an established strategy consultant with international repute. Head of the Middle East operations of Boston Innovation Partners, he developed industrial, labour reform, and education strategy for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

According to sources, he also established the Bahrain Stock Exchange and an alternate dispute resolution system. He recently advised the Omani government on health, education and energy including renewable energy. Dr Malik has a post-doctorate from the University of Illinois (Chicago). For over a decade, he was associated with Arthur D. Little Consulting.
