Turkish Deputy Prime Minister said that by completing a big project in a record period, Shahbaz Sharif has made possible what was impossible. He said that Shahbaz Sharif and his whole team deserve heartiest congratulation for the achievement.
He said that Shahbaz Sharif had brought to Pakistan a Metro Bus project which was successfully running all over the world. He said that Turkish company Albayrak had invested in Punjab and hoped that Albayrak would be successful in co-operation with the people of Punjab. He said that by increasing modality of Lahore city through introduction of Metro Bus, centuries old relations of friendship and affection between Pakistan and Turkey would be further strengthened. He said that Pakistan and Turkish friendship was based on sincerity as both countries had vigorously supported each other in the times of difficulty. He said that whenever Pakistan faced any natural calamity, Turkish people came first to help their Pakistani brethren. Similarly, he noted, when there was earthquake in Turkey, Punjab government vigorously supported Turkey.
He said that the Turkish people can never forget the cooperation of Muslims of subcontinent during Turkish struggle for independence. He said that along with Pakistan and Turkey's mutual commercial ties, there should be better economic cooperation between all Islamic countries.
He said that he had come to attend inaugural ceremony of Metro Bus service along with a large delegation to participate in the happiness of Pakistani brethren, for which they have brought a message of love and affection from Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and people of Turkey.
General Manager of Istanbul Company, Ulasim Omer Yildiz said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited Turkey and inspected Metro Bus service system and expressed his desire to bring Metro Bus system to Lahore, for which they prepared a design of the project in one year, while the whole project has been completed, under the dynamic leadership Shahbaz Sharif in a short period of 11 months.
He said that completion of such a great project in such a short time is unbelievable as an impossible task has been made possible through joint efforts of Pakistani and Turkish brethren, for which he congratulated those who worked on the project. Addressing the ceremony, DG LDA Ahad Cheema informed that Pakistan had been included in the 147 countries of the world which had a metro system. He said that metro system had cost Rs 29.80 billion which has been completed in a record period of 11 months. MD Punjab Metro Bus Authority, Sibtain Fazl-e-Haleem, threw light on various economic aspects of the project.
