Central Majlis Wahdat ul Muslimeen (MWM) leader Allama Ameen Shaheedi on Tuesday evening announced to end countrywide protests against the killing of Shia community after government accepted all their demands. Addressing a press conference after the meeting, MWM leader said that government has accepted all the demands except one point. Government assured implementation over the demands of Shia and Hazara community, Shaheedi added.

He said a targeted operation is under way in Quetta since last night. Four wanted criminals have been killed and 170 others arrested. A large quantity of arms and ammunition has also been recovered during the operation. A six-member parliamentary delegation led by Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira met Shia and Hazara leaders in Quetta to resolve the issue of countrywide protests.

Governor Balochistan was also part of the delegation. Talking to media persons after the negotiations, Qamar Zaman Kaira said that all legal demands of Shia and Hazara people have been accepted. Kaira said that military personnel were launching operation in Quetta, adding that the operation would continue unless criminal involve behind the cruelty arrested or eliminated.

Kaira requested the Hazara community to start the burial of the dead. The committee comprised on Sughra Imam, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Maula Bux Chandio, Yasmeen Rehman, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Qamar Zaman Kaira. A three-member committee of Yakjehti Council would observe implementation over the agreement.

Allama Shaheedi thanked all government representatives and Governor Balochistan for paying heed to their legal demands. He said that they hope that they would not be forced for sit-ins again. Earlier, the families of the blast victims had refused to end their sit-in and bury their loved ones until their demands were met. During the press conference, Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen leader, Allama Ameen Shahidi, appealed to all the protestors in the country to call it a day and go home.

"I appeal to all my friends to peacefully disperse. God forbid, if such a tragedy befell us again we will go for countrywide sit-ins once more," said Shahidi. According to sources, consensus was reached on the constitution of a three-member committee to evaluate the targeted operations being conducted in the province against the terrorists. Leaders of the Shia Ulema Council and Shia Solidarity Council, Hazara Democratic Party, and Quetta Yakjehti Council were also present during the talks with the government.

Announcing to start the burial of the martyrs, the chief of the Hazara tribe, Sardar Saadat Ali Hazara directed the Hazara community to prepare for the last rites of their departed dear and end the sit-in. Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said compensation will be given to the families of the victims. Meanwhile, sit-ins in Karachi were also ended.
