At least three persons, a founding member of proscribed Sipah-e-Sahaba, were killed in different incidents of violence in the city on Sunday, police and rescue sources said. Maulana Rafiqul Khalil, 65, was critically injured when attackers on a motorcycle fired on his vehicle at Shaheed-e-Millat Road in the limits of Ferozabad police station. He died in the hospital during treatment.

He had four children and was a Pesh Imam in a mosque. Spokesperson for Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ) Maulana Saeed Akbar condemned the incident and said that the deceased was the founding member of the now-defunct Sipah-e-Sahaba. Police lodged an FIR on the complaint of one Muhammad Ghulam.

Another man named Sher Khan, 35, was gunned down outside his residence in Gulshan-e-Ghazi in the limits of Mochko police station. The body shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK).

Zakir Baloch, 21, was gunned down near Fatima Cottages in the Garden area in the limits of Garden police station. Police said that the deceased was shot several times. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.
