The scheme is being implemented through the Department of Local Government and Rural Development, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, whose credit goes to Bashir Ahmad Bilour Shaheed, who had the portfolio of the department during last four and half years. The performance report of the department was unveiled by him one-day before the tragic incident, which claimed the life of that courageous politician.
Under the programme 40 tube-wells will be installed only in the provincial metropolis, which will include the replacement of the machinery of 24 facilities and construction of 16 pumping houses. Besides, these tube-wells 150 metre small and big drains will be either constructed or cleaned. Similarly, pipelines will also be replaced for provision of clean drinking water to the people while a point is also being constructed under CDWP in each union council of the city for provision of drinking water to the people.
Furthermore, machinery is being purchased under the MSDP that included 21 mini-dumpers, 43 roadside dustbins, 49 containers, 6 trucks, 5 tractor sweepers, 50 manual sweepers, one each excavator sucking machine and 82 other miscellaneous items.
