Balochistan Assembly will be meeting today (Monday) to elect new Speaker and Deputy Speaker. According to sources, JUI-F's Syed Matiullah Agha is strong contender for the post of Speaker while National Party's Dr Fouzia Nazeer Mari has emerged as the leading candidate for Deputy Speaker.

In order to become the Deputy Speaker, she has surrendered the post of Advisor to the Chief Minister for Information Technology. The Governor has summoned the session of Balochistan Assembly on Monday for the election of new Speaker and Deputy Speaker after former speaker Aslam Bhootani was ousted through a no confidence motion.
