At least three more children have died of measles in Tando Bago area here on Saturday. As many as 76 children have been died of the disease in the current month across Sindh. Affected families blamed the health department of negligence saying no team of the department came to vaccinate the children.

On the other hand, the government has said that over five million children below nine years in 29 districts of Sindh and Balochistan will be vaccinated against measles during ongoing campaign. Measles is caused by the measles virus; a single-stranded, negative-sense enveloped RNA virus of the genus Morbillivirus within the family Paramyxoviridae. Humans are the natural hosts of the virus; no animal reservoirs are known to exist. This highly contagious virus is spread by coughing and sneezing via close personal contact or direct contact with secretions.
