The Democrats Panel led by Imtiaz Khan Faran won the Karachi Press Club's annual elections for 2012-13 on Saturday. The other panel contesting the polls was the 'Green Panel' and it was headed by G M Jamali. Official results are as follows:

Muhammad Imtiaz Khan Faran (President) bagged 521 votes versus G M Jamali's 377 votes, Amir Latif (Secretary) secured 582 votes against Faisal Aziz Khan's 318, Saeed Sarbazi (Vice-President) got 502 votes against Khursheed Abbassi's 402, Arman Sabir got 559 votes against Attaullah Abro's 327 while Shams Keerio got 580 votes against Syed Kashif Hussain's 319.

Successful members of the club's governing body are: Asif Jiaja (577 votes), Hina Mahgul Rind (616), Imdad Ali Soomro (507), Jamshed Gul Bukhari (520), Kashif Rais Farooqi (497) Javed Asghar Chaudhary (547) and Muhammad Ramzan Chandio (522), More than 900 out of 1,200 members exercised their right to vote. Meanwhile, spokesperson for the Bilawal House Aijaz Durrani has felicitated the Democrats panel on their success.
