A Formation Commanders' Conference was held here at the General Headquarters on Tuesday with Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani in the chair. This conference is held annually. During the two-day conference, country's defence, war on terrorism, internal issues related to training and national defence came under discussion.

Defence sources said the conference was very important as the high army command also got the viewpoint of brigadiers on various issues. The last day of the conference will see announcement of promotions of officers from the rank of lieutenant-colonel to colonel and from colonel to brigadier.
