President Asif Ali Zardari, taking strong notice of a report appearing in the media about the use of expired polio vaccine in Shakai Valley of South Waziristan Agency, has called for a report and has directed the concerned authorities to take strict action against those responsible for such negligence.

Spokesperson to the President, Senator Farhatullah Babar said the President had directed all concerned to show zero tolerance to any incident of negligence with regards to polio vaccination campaigns that were undertaken throughout the country at regular intervals. The President has also directed the concerned agencies to ensure timely supply of vaccine to the various parts of the country especially to the far-flung areas and also ensure that complete and update record is maintained at provincial and district level of both the used and unused vaccines.-PR
